Bit Digital Shuts Down Capital City Miners Amid Industry Pressures
Crypto mining firm Bit Digital has announced that it is shutting down its Bitcoin mining rigs in its capital city, following a similar move by its competitor, Riot Blockchain.
Bit Digital's decision comes as part of an ongoing restructuring effort to reduce costs and increase efficiency. The company aims to shift its focus towards more profitable mining operations outside of its capital city.
The shutdown will impact around 1,000 miners, which account for about 1% of the firm's total mining capacity.
Bit Digital has been operating in the crypto mining space since 2018 and has seen significant growth in recent years. However, increasing competition and declining cryptocurrency prices have put pressure on the company to adapt its operations.
