Bit2Me Launches Forensic Unit for Cryptocurrency Investigations

Share

Bit2Me, Spain's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has launched a new forensic unit called Bit2Shield to assist law enforcement agencies and courts in tracing, seizing, and liquidating cryptocurrencies linked to investigations. This move formalizes services that Bit2Me had already been providing to government agencies.

According to the company, Bit2Shield will provide forensic and operational services covering digital assets from the point of identification during an investigation through their eventual sale when ordered by authorities. The unit will assist investigators in extracting information from wallets, locating cryptocurrency, and preparing digitally signed forensic reports that can be submitted in court.

Bit2Me processed €1.5 million ($1.74 million) in seized cryptocurrency for authorities including Interpol, Europol, and Spanish police during 2025. The company used blockchain analytics provider Chainalysis to trace the assets before converting them into euros for the state.
