Bit2Me Launches Independent Crypto Recovery Unit for Law Enforcement

Bit2Me, Spain's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the establishment of an independent company called Bit2Shield (CryptoShield S.L.) to assist law enforcement agencies in tracking and recovering cryptocurrencies. The new department will support investigators by extracting wallet data, locating encrypted assets, and issuing digital signature evidence reports for use in court proceedings.

Bit2Shield's tasks also include conducting fraud investigations, verifying the source of funds, as well as providing training to police officers, judges, and bank officials. This move formalizes Bit2Me's previous work with public institutions. In 2025, Bit2Me handled €150,000 (approximately $174,000) in seized cryptocurrencies for international organizations such as Interpol and Europol.

The assets will be stored in a multi-signature cold wallet at Bit2Shield, and sold upon the order of authorities, with proceeds converted to euros and deposited into government bank accounts. The establishment of Bit2Shield is part of Bit2Me's expansion from retail transactions to infrastructure serving banks and public institutions.
