Bit2Me Sets Up Unit to Aid Law Enforcement in Crypto Asset Tracking
Spain's largest cryptocurrency exchange, Bit2Me, has established a specialized unit to aid law enforcement in tracking down digital assets. The new company, officially registered as CryptoShield S.L., is called Bit2Shield.
The primary function of Bit2Shield is to assist investigators during searches and seizures by extracting wallet data, locating cryptocurrencies, and producing digitally signed forensic reports for use in court proceedings.
Bit2Me has already been working with public authorities, processing 1.5 million euros ($1.74 million) worth of seized crypto assets in 2025, including transactions with Interpol, Europol, and Spanish police.
The company used blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis to trace the assets before converting them into euros for the state. Bit2Shield will continue this process, arranging for seized assets to be stored in cold wallets that require multiple signatures and sold when ordered by authorities.
