The active address counts of four major blockchains - Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tron, and Cardano - are diverging, each telling a distinct story. According to CryptoRank, Bitcoin's active address count has dropped significantly compared to previous major cycles, even as its price remains far above historical levels.

This decline does not necessarily signal weaker network usage, according to Joao Wedson, founder of Alphractal, who notes that on-chain metrics, DeFi and DEX/CEX activity, and adoption can vary by protocol.

The data shows that Bitcoin's active address count is down versus previous cycles, while Ethereum's is holding steady. Tron and Cardano are also showing different patterns, with Tron experiencing a decline in active addresses and Cardano seeing an increase.
