Bitcoin Affordability Set to Hit Millionaires
Changpeng Zhao, founder of Binance, recently tweeted that soon millionaires won't be able to afford one full Bitcoin. This claim is based on a comparison between the total number of millionaires and the limited supply of BTC.
The United States alone has 23.6 million millionaires, while globally there are 57.5 million, according to the UBS Global Wealth Report 2026. The total supply of Bitcoin will never exceed 21 million coins.
Currently, miners have produced 20.07 million coins, leaving only 4.4% of the total supply remaining to be mined. These final 930,000 coins are expected to surface around 2140, at a time when the block reward is halved every four years.
