Bitcoin and Dogecoin Reign Supreme in India's Cryptocurrency Market
A recent study by CoinSwitch reveals that Bitcoin and Dogecoin are India's most popular cryptocurrency pairing across all age groups.
The Q2 2026 edition of their report, 'India's Crypto Portfolio: How India Invests', highlights significant differences in investing behavior among Indians of various ages. Younger investors, aged 18-25, drove new participation, making up 54.4% of new investors added during the quarter.
However, this age group was the only one to record more selling than buying, with a buy-to-sell ratio of 0.65. In contrast, older investors, aged 46 and above, showed stronger buying conviction, with a ratio of 1.14.
Interestingly, portfolio diversification increased with age, with younger investors holding fewer cryptos on average. While 59.2% of 18-25-year-olds held only one crypto, this number fell to 36.3% among those aged 36-45.
