Bitcoin and Ethereum Climb as US-Iran Tensions Ease
Bitcoin and Ethereum experienced a boost in value on July 27 as investors responded to reports that the US had paused military strikes against Iran. This easing of tensions improved market sentiment, causing oil prices to drop.
The Murban crude price fell by around 10% to $97 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) declined by 5.6% to $83 and Brent crude slipped 6.5% to $90. This decline in oil prices is attributed to comments from US envoy Mike Waltz that President Donald Trump was allowing room for negotiations with Tehran.
The prospect of renewed diplomacy has boosted risk assets, including cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin's price climbed by 1.75%, reaching near $65,447, supported by approximately $17 billion in daily trading volume. Ethereum also extended its rally, reaching $1,981, its highest level since early June.
