Bitcoin and Ethereum Markets Consolidate Ahead of New Structure
Zhou Yueying, a technical analyst specializing in mainstream cryptocurrency trends, provided an update on Bitcoin and Ethereum market analysis for August 9th. The markets have been experiencing narrow-range consolidation, with little change expected over the weekend.
Looking at the daily chart of Bitcoin, Yueying noted that it previously formed a doji bullish candlestick and briefly broke above the $65,000 zone before pulling back. Today's opening maintained high-level narrow-range consolidation, with Bollinger Bands flat and short-term moving averages trending upward. The MACD fast and slow lines are moving higher, while red volume bars continue to grow.
The 4-hour chart shows support at the middle band, with Bollinger Bands parallel and moving up. Short-term moving averages are aligned, and the MACD fast and slow lines have crossed and are moving downward. The KDJ is turning upward, but attention should be paid to resistance near $66,000.
Ethereum is trading in a narrow range above $1,900, with no changes in the short-term market structure. Both the daily and 4-hour technical trends are linked to Bitcoin, so refer to the same analysis. In the short-term, watch for resistance near $1,950; support is near $1,850.
Zhou Yueying recommends shorting Bitcoin at $65,300 and Ethereum at $1,930, with levels of resistance and support provided for short-term trading.
