Bitcoin as Retirement Safety Net: Analyst's Contrarian View
Mark Moss, an analyst and entrepreneur, argues that Bitcoin can be a 'cheat code' for retiring without selling. According to him, owning Bitcoin provides structural infrastructure for generating liquidity without abandoning ownership.
Moss emphasizes the importance of staying in the owner column rather than becoming a forced seller. He points out that traditional retirement thinking is misguided and that people should aim for freedom to work on their own terms, not freedom from work.
The key strategy, Moss says, involves borrowing against Bitcoin with discipline: low loan-to-value ratios, multiple liquidity layers, and asset sales reserved as a last resort. He also dismisses the idea of passive income and the FIRE movement, proposing instead 'retiring from assets'.
