Bitcoin Billionaires Fuel Farage's Reform UK with £72m in 48 Hours
Two cryptocurrency billionaires have donated a combined £72 million to Nigel Farage's Reform UK party in less than 48 hours, matching the record contribution of £10 million left by British businessman John Sainsbury to the Conservatives in 2022. The donations came from Christopher Harborne and Ben Delo, who are also known as Bitcoin billionaires.
Harborne donated £36 million, stating that he wanted a party 'ready for government' without expecting anything in return. This matches a donation made by Delo a day earlier, which was also £36 million.
The money will help Reform UK prepare for the next election, due by 2029, and address allegations of irregularities in its funding, which it denies. Farage welcomed the backing from both men, saying they showed confidence in Reform UK's ability to win the general election.
