Bitcoin BIP-110 Fork Stuck at Two Blocks Amid Hash Power Rejection

The Bitcoin BIP-110 fork has widened further as it remains frozen at block 961,633. The enforcing branch still can't produce a third block hours after mandatory signaling began on August 9.

Despite the mandatory window starting on August 8, only two blocks have been produced by the minority chain, with OCEAN reporting 257 PH/s on its BIP-110 endpoint but no new block for 17 hours. The gap between the two chains has increased to 111 blocks from 88 earlier on Sunday.

Michael Saylor estimates that about 99.85% of Bitcoin's hashpower stayed with Bitcoin, calling the result decisive. However, the BIP-110 branch still technically exists and miners can direct additional computing power towards it to attempt to extend its chain.
