Bitcoin Blasts Through $82,000 as Crypto Market Adds Trillions
Bitcoin has broken above $82,000 for the first time since May 11. The surge in price is part of a broader market rally that added over $1.45 trillion to the global crypto market capitalization within 24 hours.
The liquidation of $510 million worth of short positions may have also contributed to Bitcoin's sudden rise, as traders scramble to cover their losses.
Ethereum and XRP have followed suit, with Ethereum climbing 4.2% to $2,518.82 and XRP gaining 5.7% to $1.45.
