Bitcoin Bounces to $81,000 as Metaplanet Shares Surge Amid Inflows
Bitcoin has rebounded to the $81,000 range and is testing its upper trading bound. The recent surge in price is partly attributed to receding expectations of US rate hikes and a weaker dollar.
Metaplanet shares have been on a strong rebound since August 20, with a notable gain of over 11% in the Tokyo market on August 4. This increase in value can be linked to improved market sentiment and inflows of short-term capital, as well as Bitcoin's recovery to the $80,000 level.
The company's Enterprise Value (EV) is approximately ¥491.6 billion, while its Bitcoin Net Asset Value (NAV) is around ¥544.5 billion, indicating that the value assigned to the entire company is lower than the market value of its held BTC.
