Bitcoin Breakout: CryptoQuant Analysts See Early Bull Phase
CryptoQuant analysts believe that Bitcoin has exited its bear market and entered an early bull phase. Ki Young Ju, founder of CryptoQuant, pointed out that Bitcoin's current behavior is similar to what it did in previous cycles before entering a bull market.
The firm's research shows that Bitcoin flows to derivative exchanges have started again, indicating that traders are moving into 'risk-on' mode, which has historically marked the start of a new bull cycle. Theophiluspep, another analyst at CryptoQuant, noted that while Bitcoin is entering a bull market, there are signs of potential near-term cooldown due to elevated profit-taking and overbought conditions.
The recent price surge in Bitcoin, up 22% over the past seven days, has reached $78,716. This comes after a sluggish June and July where it mostly traded below $65,000. The increase is attributed to a change in sentiment among U.S. investors who reversed course and bought shares in Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), managed by firms like BlackRock, Fidelity, Grayscale, and Morgan Stanley.
The Treasury Department's announcement to at least double the size of its long-dated bond buybacks has also contributed to the positive sentiment. The decision led to lower yields, while Bitcoin and gold prices rose. Additionally, President Donald Trump's meeting with crypto executives and his call for lawmakers to pass the Clarity Act further boosted investor confidence.
