Bitcoin Breakout Ignites Q3 Rally, Echoes of 2017 Bull Run
Bitcoin has wrapped up August with its strongest performance in nine years, reversing a multi-quarter slump. The cryptocurrency's late-summer rally is drawing comparisons to the historic price action that fueled the 2017 bull run.
The bellwether coin has seen a decisive breakout, with its third-quarter return currently standing at a robust 32.48%. This marks a significant turnaround from consecutive quarterly losses of 22.2% in Q1 and 14.09% in Q2.
The average Q3 return for Bitcoin is just 7.94%, making the current performance all the more impressive. In fact, to find a more explosive third quarter, traders have to look back to 2017, when Bitcoin registered an 80.41% gain in Q3 before launching into a massive 215.07% rally in Q4.
