Bitcoin Breakout Pushes MSTR Stock Up Over 10% Amid Improving Market Risk Appetite
Bitcoin (BTC) has broken above $78,000, pushing crypto concept stocks higher and driving MicroStrategy's (MSTR) stock up over 10% in pre-market trading. This surge comes after recent developments that have improved market risk appetite, including the U.S. Treasury expanding long-term Treasury buybacks and Trump urging Congress to pass cryptocurrency regulatory legislation.
The SEC's more positive stance on digital asset regulation has also contributed to this improvement, as well as large-scale capital inflows into Bitcoin ETFs. Specifically, spot Bitcoin ETFs have logged single-day net inflows of approximately $517 million, with BlackRock's IBIT attracting about $285 million in net inflows.
MicroStrategy holds approximately 840,000 BTC at an average cost of around $75,000 per coin. With Bitcoin breaking back above $77,000, the company's Bitcoin holdings have returned to a profitable zone, improving market expectations regarding its asset value. As long as BTC stabilizes above $75,000-$77,000 and ETF inflows continue, MSTR's short-term rebound could remain supported.
