Bitcoin Breaks 13-Year Pattern as August Rally Heats Up
The Bitcoin market is experiencing an unusual surge in August, defying broader market trends. According to CoinGlass statistics, $BTC has climbed by over 25% this month, prompting a short liquidation cascade that redirected speculators' attention to its end-of-month target and the outlook for September.
Historically, September has been the most bearish month for Bitcoin, with an average return on investment (ROI) of -3%. However, $BTC has closed the month positively for the past three cycles in a row, indicating that another green September cannot be ruled out.
The amount of $BTC sent by short-term holders began to taper off, suggesting that profit-taking is decreasing. FOMO now appears to be picking up, with buying interest increasing and bearish on-chain indicators turning bullish.
A 13-year-old pattern is being broken, as August has traditionally been a weak month for Bitcoin, but this year it's seen a significant increase in price. The inflow of buying interest from U.S. investors appears to be picking up, with the Bitcoin Coinbase Premium Index turning positive for the first time in over three months.
