Bitcoin Breaks $64K Barrier as Most Majors Struggle
Bitcoin's price has breached $64,000 for the first time in a while, rising by over 1% on Tuesday. The only major cryptocurrency to show significant gains, it also holds a weekly gain of almost 1%. In contrast, most other majors slipped lower.
Ethereum saw its price ease by half a percent to just under $1,900, but it still boasts an almost 1% weekly gain. XRP fell over 1% to just under $1 and is down over 2% on the week, making it the weakest of the group.
Meanwhile, Hyperliquid's HYPE stood out among smaller majors with a weekly performance of almost 7.5%, more than double that of any other asset in this category. According to Alex Kuptsikevich, chief market analyst at FxPro, sellers remain in control on both the medium and very long-term trends.
