Bitcoin Breaks Below Key $64,000 Level as Bears Regain Control
Bitcoin's price has broken below $64,000, a key level it had been struggling to reclaim. The cryptocurrency is currently trading around $63,350-$63,400, with a bearish short-term structure. The daily BTCUSD spot chart shows that Bitcoin is losing the lower boundary of its rising pitchfork channel and remains below the important $64,000 area.
The key price levels on the trading map have been identified as follows: $62,865-$62,900, where buyers previously reacted aggressively; $63,300-$63,320, a bearish decision zone; and $63,695-$63,725, an upper developing value area that serves as a bullish recovery zone.
The rising pitchfork channel is a dynamic support and resistance structure, and breaking below its lower boundary weakens the short-term bullish trajectory. The burden of proof has shifted back to buyers, who need to prove themselves again by reclaiming $64,000. However, the market is spending time on the weaker side of the range, with Bitcoin trading below the main value pivot.
A value area shows where a large proportion of trading activity took place during a selected period. The point of control (POC) is the individual price area where the greatest amount of volume traded. When Bitcoin is above an important value area and holding there, buyers may have greater control. However, when price moves beneath it and cannot recover, the market can start searching for lower prices where buyers are willing to become active again.
