Bitcoin Bulls at 80: Analysts Warn of Short-Term Risks Amid Bullish Sentiment
CryptoQuant's Bull Score index has surged to 80 as Bitcoin rallied by 24%, signaling the early stages of a new bull market. Eight out of ten underlying indicators are now bullish, with multiple on-chain metrics in favor of BTC. Analysts warn that a sustained weekly close above $83,000 is needed to confirm this transition.
Market strategist Joel Kruger pointed out that a clear break above the May 2026 high of $82,820 would reinforce the view that a meaningful cycle low is in place and shift attention towards the next major move through $100,000. The rally has been accompanied by growing spot and futures demand, something that had not occurred since early October 2025.
The Crypto Fear and Greed Index rose to 81, crossing into Extreme Greed territory for the first time since late 2024. This represents the fastest swing from Extreme Fear to Extreme Greed since CoinMarketCap began tracking the index. However, some indicators suggest that the rally may be overheated in the near term.
