Bitcoin Bulls Eye $82,500 as Key Test for Long-Term Momentum
Bitcoin's price recovery above its major weekly moving averages has strengthened the long-term technical picture, but bulls still face an important test near $82,500.
The cryptocurrency has spent almost a month above its 50-week exponential moving average and reclaimed all of its weekly trend measures: the 20-, 50- and 200-week EMAs. According to Will Clemente's analysis, this precedent suggests that Bitcoin may have marked a durable bottom at $57,000 in mid-2026.
However, market data shows that BTC is still trading around $78,600, leaving the market within striking distance of the key level that could determine whether the latest rebound develops into a broader trend reversal. A sustained break above $82,500 would place Bitcoin back in the upper half of its broad ascending channel and strengthen the case for a continuation toward the $90,000 region.
Rejection at $82,500, on the other hand, would leave Bitcoin vulnerable to further consolidation. Initial support sits around the reclaimed weekly averages in the high-$60,000s to upper-$70,000s, while the rising lower boundary of the channel provides deeper structural support.
