Bitcoin Bulls Take Charge as OG Whales Kickstart Price Surge
Over the past 24 hours, Bitcoin's price has surged significantly, breaking free from its tight range between $62,000 and $65,000. According to CryptoQuant's CEO, Ki Young Ju, a group of highly influential market participants known as OG whales opened massive long positions at BTC's price bottom last week, which sparked the sudden uptick.
These OG whales have been instrumental in determining when the Bitcoin bull run starts, and their actions seem to be having a profound impact on the market. In fact, this is not the first time they've done so, as they also played a crucial role in Bitcoin's previous price surges.
In addition to the sudden price increase, Ki Young Ju also noted that the demand for BTC has turned positive in both spot and perpetual futures markets, marking the first time since October 2025. This is a significant development, as it suggests that the bear market may finally be over if this trend holds for another month.
