A chain split occurred in Bitcoin at block 961632, as rival miners clashed over implementation of BIP-110. Several monitoring sites, including forkwatch.tv and fork.observer, logged the chain split shortly after 4 p.m. EDT.

The split landed at the exact moment Bitcoin underwent a difficulty adjustment, with mining difficulty climbing 0.99% at block 961632. Mempool.space data shows Antpool mined block 961632, while the BIP-110 supporter-run clone mempool.kilombino.com shows Roughnecks mining a competing version of the same block.

BIP-110 creator Dathon Ohm congratulated Roughnecks for mining the first BIP-110-compliant block. However, Antpool's victory has sparked criticism from some supporters of the fork, with LukeDashjr and Bitcoin Mechanic expressing their discontent on social media.
