Bitcoin Charges Ahead with Strongest August in Nine Years

Bitcoin is experiencing its strongest August in nine years, with its Q3 2026 return currently standing at 32.48%. This performance marks a significant rebound from consecutive quarterly losses of 22.2% in Q1 and 14.09% in Q2.

The average Q3 return for Bitcoin is just 7.94%, making this quarter's gain all the more impressive. The strong showing has seemingly put an end to the bearish trend that dominated the first half of the year.

In other news, Arbitrum has activated its ArbOS 61 'Elara' upgrade, which adds optional compliance filtering for custom Orbit chains and expands the size allowed for Stylus smart contracts. Node operators must update to Nitro version 3.11.3 to support the release.

Cronos halted block production after an estimated $75 million Tectonic exploit, trapping most suspected proceeds on-chain while unrelated users could no longer settle transactions across the network.
