Bitcoin.com has integrated the UAE-regulated stablecoin USDU into its self-custodial web and mobile wallets, giving millions of users access to a dollar-pegged token.

The token is issued by Universal Digital Intl. Limited, registered with the Central Bank of the UAE and regulated by the Financial Services Regulation Authority.

USDU operates as an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain, allowing users to maintain full control over their private keys.

Bitcoin.com CEO Corbin Fraser emphasized the importance of transparency in stablecoin backing, stating that 'people shouldn't need to be forensic accountants' to verify the backing of a stablecoin.
