Bitcoin Consolidates Above $62,000 as Institutional Investors Increase Holdings
Bitcoin's price has been stuck in a tight range between $62,000 and $66,000 over the past month, according to TradingView. Despite this consolidation, market analysts believe it's a testament to the resilience of the cryptocurrency market.
This stability is attributed to positive sentiment surrounding Goldman Sachs' prediction of an 'unlikely' September Fed interest rate hike. Institutional investors like Tudor Investment Corporation and Quantitative trading firm Jane Street have increased their holdings in BlackRock's spot Bitcoin ETF by 18.9% and $630 million, respectively.
Several companies are also embracing cryptocurrency adoption. Metaplanet plans to bring its corporate BTC treasury playbook to Nasdaq via Super League Enterprise, investing 2,100 Bitcoin and $2.5 million in cash into the gaming company. Zhibao Technology has become the 33rd publicly traded Bitcoin treasury after selling shares for 2,380 BTC.
Kazakhstan has announced a three-year 0% tax policy on individual crypto gains, while Russia's regulatory framework is encouraging Moscow Exchange to debut Bitcoin and Ethereum futures trading in September. BlackRock believes a 1-2% weighting on BTC achieves optimal risk-adjusted returns, with reduced correlation to the stock market being advantageous.
In terms of short-term predictions, if BTC holds above its median realized price of $63,200, it could rise to the $65,000 resistance mark. However, a break below this would pave the way for $62,000.
