Bitcoin Consolidates Near $80,000 After August Rally
Bitcoin has been trading in a narrow range after its August rally that saw it surge by around 25% and surpass $80,000. According to recent data, the price has been hovering near the psychological level of $80K for the past 20 days.
The sharp breakout occurred on August 20-22, when the price jumped from $68,882.10 to $78,831.10, accompanied by a massive volume spike of $161 billion on August 22, signaling strong buying momentum.
After this rally, the price consolidated in the range of $76,268.00 to $80,282.00 through late August and early September, with volume cooling but staying elevated at around $60-90 billion.
A second volume surge near September 3-5 pushed the price briefly toward $76,927.00, followed by a mild pullback to $70,737.00 on September 9.
According to the pattern of breakout, sustained high volume, and higher-low consolidation, Bitcoin could retest the $80K-$85K range if volume picks up again.
