Bitcoin Core version 32.0 is set to be released on October 10, 2026, which means that nodes running version 29.x will no longer receive security fixes after this date.

According to a recent analysis, approximately six in ten reachable Bitcoin nodes run a version that will no longer be maintained once 32.0 appears, with around 8,629 nodes (33.31 percent) still using the 29 series.

The project's lifecycle schedule shows that major versions receive security fixes for three releases after their appearance, and when a new major version is released, the oldest of those three slips out of maintenance.
