Bitcoin Corrects Gains as Sanctions Shift Takes Hold
Cryptocurrency prices have given back some of their gains after the US shifted from military confrontation to economic sanctions against Iran. As of 8:30 am on the 26th, Bitcoin was trading at $78,724, down 0.25% from 24 hours earlier.
This comes after the Trump administration designated more than 60 individuals, companies, and vessels supporting Iran's nuclear and missile development as sanctions targets, expanding the scope to five areas including digital assets.
Despite this, Bitcoin briefly crossed $80,000 on the previous afternoon, surging about 5% from 24 hours earlier. However, it is now undergoing a price correction due to profit-taking sell orders.
