Bitcoin Could Drop to $43,500 Before Stabilization: Michael Terpin

Michael Terpin, an experienced investor in Bitcoin, believes that the cryptocurrency's market has yet to reach its true bottom. Speaking on the Trade Secrets show with Cointelegraph, he warned that BTC could drop as low as $43,500, which is a decline of around 66% from its all-time high in October 2025.

Terpin pointed out that markets often experience a prolonged period of selling pressure before recovery becomes durable. He argued that traders frequently confuse sharp declines or short-lived bottoms with the end of a cycle, and that the true bottom only counts when it behaves like one - meaning it doesn't instantly bounce back as if the selling phase never happened.

In his view, the current drawdown is not enough to confirm a floor, and Terpin expects Bitcoin to fall further before stabilization. He emphasized that investors should be cautious of buying corporate vehicles exposed to Bitcoin, such as Strategy, rather than holding BTC directly.
