Bitcoin Could Overtake Gold in Importance, Predicts Binance Founder
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) predicts that Bitcoin could potentially overtake gold in importance, possibly as soon as the next cryptocurrency bull run. He notes that governments may require years to transition systems traditionally built around valuing and holding bullion toward Bitcoin.
CZ's comments come as gold remains significantly larger than Bitcoin in terms of overall market size, with gold currently around 10 times larger than BTC. This substantial gap demonstrates the scale of the challenge Bitcoin would face if it were to become comparable to gold as a globally significant store of value.
The comparison between the two assets has become increasingly common as Bitcoin develops into a larger component of the global digital asset market. CZ's comments suggest that the transition, if it occurs, would not necessarily happen immediately even if Bitcoin adoption continues to expand.
