Bitcoin Could Plummet by $83,600 in Coming Months, Investor Warns
Bitcoin's price could drop significantly before it reaches a bottom, according to investor Michael Terpin. In an interview with Cointelegraph, he stated that the market has not yet reached a true 'bottom' and that prices could still fall by around 66% from its all-time high of $126,100 in October 2025.
This would put the price at around $43,500. Terpin emphasized that one hallmark of a real market bottom is that prices do not 'pop back' quickly after reaching a low. He believes that traders often confuse sharp declines or short-lived bottoms with the end of a cycle.
Terpin pointed to the 2021 peak as an example, where many traders delayed exit decisions by betting on higher prices. He argued that greed and mis-timing have historically derailed traders. Terpin also highlighted the role of macro pressure in contributing to market volatility, citing bad economic conditions in successive cycles.
He maintained that Bitcoin's four-year cycle is not finished, despite debate about the impact of institutional participation and spot exchange-traded funds on the market. Terpin cautioned investors against treating corporate vehicles exposed to Bitcoin as a substitute for holding BTC directly.
