Bitcoin Could Soar to $1.3 Million if It Grabs One-Third of Global Store-of-Value Market

Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan has made a bold prediction about Bitcoin's future, stating that it could reach $1.3 million per coin if it captures just a third of the global store-of-value market in the next decade.

This forecast positions Bitcoin not as a speculative asset, but as a legitimate competitor to gold and other traditional store-of-value assets.

Hougan's model suggests that the store-of-value markets currently total around $80 trillion, with gold and central bank reserves making up a significant portion of this figure. If Bitcoin were to capture just one-third of this market, it would amount to approximately $26 trillion.

With a fixed supply of 21 million coins and accounting for those already lost, Hougan estimates that the price of each coin could reach $1.3 million if the market share is achieved.
