VanEck, an asset manager, has released a new projection for Bitcoin's price, predicting it could reach $2.9 million by 2050. The forecast assumes a 15% compound annual growth rate (CAGR), with Bitcoin settling 5-10% of global international trade and 5% of domestic trade by midcentury.

The analysts at VanEck identified global liquidity expansion and monetary debasement as primary price drivers for Bitcoin. They positioned it not as a tactical trade, but as a long-duration hedge against adverse monetary regime outcomes.

Under this scenario, central banks could hold 2.5% of their assets in Bitcoin, while the $2.9 million price would represent 1.66% of global financial assets.
