Bitcoin Cycle Shift: Limited Drawdowns and Faster Recovery
The current Bitcoin cycle is exhibiting significant differences from previous bear markets, according to Wintermute. The firm notes that the drawdown in Bitcoin's price has been limited to around 50%, with a faster recovery pace compared to the 2018 and 2022 cycles.
During those cycles, Bitcoin's price declined by more than 75% after 340 days, whereas in the current cycle it has only reached around 50%. This reduced drawdown is attributed to sustained net inflows into ETFs and early institutional participation in market trading.
Data compiled by Woofun AI shows that Bitcoin is currently trading between $78,000 and $79,000 with a 24-hour gain of less than 1%. The 'Equilibrium Price' metric tracked by Joao Wedson has also been rising, indicating a potential market bottom. This indicator has accurately predicted market bottoms in the past.
Market participants are adjusting their expectations based on these structural changes. Trader Killa predicts that Bitcoin will set a new all-time high before November 2027, citing the accelerating speed at which the market bottoms and peaks.
