Bitcoin Defies Challenges as Treasury Sales and Mining Sector Woes Continue
Corporate treasury sales and recent security breaches have weighed on the Bitcoin market, but it has managed to hold its ground despite the challenges.
The price of BTC remains near $65,000 after a prolonged decline in both Bitcoin and share prices made raising fresh capital difficult for companies like Satsuma Technology (SATS) and Smarter Web Company (SWC).
These firms have begun reducing their holdings or restructuring their finances. Strategy, the company that holds the most Bitcoins, hasn't purchased any in the last four weeks but sold stocks to increase its cash reserves to $3.2 billion.
The mining sector has also come under scrutiny after Poolin, one of the world's largest Bitcoin mining pools, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection with liabilities estimated between $100 million and $500 million.
