Bitcoin Defies Market Headwinds at $78,000 Amid Soaring Oil Prices
Bitcoin has maintained its position near $78,000 despite rising oil prices and increasing treasury yields. This stability is in contrast to expectations that negative market news would impact the cryptocurrency's value.
The recent surge in U.S. treasury yields, which have reached their highest levels since January 2025, has raised concerns about inflation worries linked to soaring oil prices. Japan's benchmark bond yield has also reached 3% for the first time in three decades, while German and British 10-year yields have hit their highest levels since 2011 and 2008 respectively.
Besant's comments on potential intervention in the bond market initially sparked a short squeeze that pushed Bitcoin above $80,000. However, treasury yields have risen sharply once again, indicating a lack of confidence from market participants. Some analysts are now pricing in a 70% chance of a Federal Reserve rate hike.
Despite this, Bitcoin has demonstrated resilience, recording a 24% gain over the past month, the strongest performance since November 2024. Its value remains unaffected by negative news, having established a higher floor around $78,000.
