Bitcoin Defies Trump's Iran Threats with Unchanged Price
Bitcoin remained unfazed by US President Donald Trump's threats to hit Iran hard, barely moving in price despite rising tensions in the Middle East.
The largest cryptocurrency stood at $79,076 on Monday, unchanged over a 24-hour period and essentially flat for the past week.
This stability comes after a remarkable run that began two weeks ago, with Bitcoin's price surging by nearly 30% over the past month.
The coin's upward trajectory started when the US Treasury announced it would at least double its liquidity-support buyback operations, which hurt the dollar but benefited non-yielding assets like Bitcoin and gold.
