Bitcoin Depot Wins Approval For Chapter 11 Liquidation Plan
Cryptocurrency kiosk operator Bitcoin Depot has received confirmation of its Chapter 11 liquidation plan from a Texas bankruptcy judge. The approval came after the judge narrowed third-party releases in the plan to cover only conduct that followed the plan's effective date.
The plan, which was approved on August 10, 2026, aims to provide a structured release of claims against Bitcoin Depot and its affiliates. However, the original plan would have released claims against third parties, which is no longer the case due to the judge's decision.
The approval of the plan brings some certainty for stakeholders and customers of Bitcoin Depot, who were impacted by the company's Chapter 11 filing in February this year. The company operates over 28,000 kiosks across the United States, making it one of the largest cryptocurrency kiosk operators in the country.
