Bitcoin Developers Uncover Critical Bugs Across 390 Projects
A team of volunteer Bitcoin developers has identified critical bugs in numerous projects related to the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. In a coordinated security audit, the group discovered 85 critical and 635 high-severity issues across 390 BTC projects using artificial intelligence models.
The findings come after a recent hack on July 30 that stole as much as $130 million from Bitcoin wallets in a matter of days, highlighting concerns about security and safety. The crypto industry is racing to assess the issues that led to the Coldcard hack and prevent similar exploits.
The audit involved 16 developers who filed 4,962 findings in just over a day. Bitcoin is currently trading at $64,400 U.S. on August 6.
