Bitcoin Developers Uncover Over 4,900 Vulnerabilities in 27-Hour Scan

A group of 16 developers working around the clock used AI models and $10,000 worth of computing power per day to scan Bitcoin-related projects for vulnerabilities. In just 27 hours, they reported 4,962 issues across 390 projects, including 85 critical bugs.

The team's findings are part of a 'red teaming' approach, where developers test code as an attacker would. According to the source, the rate of discovering critical exploits was about one per hour per person, describing the situation as 'extremely bad.'

The main challenge now is not detection but triage, verifying and prioritizing the reports for project maintainers.
