Bitcoin Dips Amid Options Expiry, ETF Outflows, and Fed Uncertainty
Bitcoin's price slipped more than 1% on July 31 as a combination of factors weighed on investor sentiment. The world's largest cryptocurrency traded near $63,900 after posting strong gains throughout July.
The expiry of large Bitcoin options contracts at the end of July triggered heightened market volatility, with traders and market makers adjusting their positions ahead of contract settlement.
Spot Bitcoin ETF outflows also contributed to the decline, as institutional investors rebalanced their portfolios before month-end.
A stronger US dollar, Federal Reserve uncertainty, and derivatives market activity further added to the selling pressure.
