Bitcoin Dominance Endures as Paybis Data Reveals 42% Repeat Purchase Share
Exclusive data shared by crypto exchange Paybis shows that Bitcoin has maintained its position as the preferred cryptocurrency among returning retail buyers.
The analysis of three years' worth of data, from August 2023 to August 2026, reveals that Bitcoin accounted for 42.21% of users' first transactions on the platform and a nearly identical 42.67% of second transactions.
By comparison, Ethereum accounted for 10.39% of first transactions and 10.82% of second transactions, while stablecoins dropped from 15.29% to 11.83%. This means Bitcoin alone accounted for nearly twice the share of second transactions as Ethereum and stablecoins combined, which represented 22.65%.
Konstantins Vasilenko, co-founder and chief business development officer (CBDO) of Paybis, noted that repeat purchases are a poor measure for stablecoins due to their primary function in payment or transfer tasks.
