Bitcoin Dominates Crypto Inflows with $1 Billion Surge
The crypto market saw a significant surge in inflows over August 17-19, with Bitcoin leading the charge. According to Farside Investors' data, Bitcoin accounted for 77.4% of the $1.297 billion in inflows recorded across US Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana crypto ETPs. This represents a massive rebound, with Bitcoin's three-session total reaching $1.004 billion.
The figures show that Ethereum also participated in the rebound, although to a lesser extent than Bitcoin. Ethereum's total inflows over the same period came to $289.1 million, with an average daily flow of $96.4 million - roughly 4.3 times its historical daily average. Solana funds saw minimal inflows, averaging around $1.4 million per day.
The surge in Bitcoin inflows was concentrated in three products: BlackRock's IBIT contributed $588.5 million over Aug. 17-19, while Fidelity's FBTC added $198.2 million and ARK 21Shares' ARKB supplied $111.6 million. Among Ethereum products, BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) led the way with $212.7 million in inflows.
It is worth noting that while the data shows a significant rebound in crypto inflows, it also has some limitations. The tables track different numbers of products and do not provide aggregate category assets under management. Therefore, the historical-average comparison should be taken as a rough check on each group's pace rather than a full AUM-adjusted demand measure.
