Bitcoin Edges Closer to $90,000 Amid Market Volatility and ETF Outflows

Bitcoin's price has been stuck in a narrow range of $85,000 to $90,000 for two weeks, but it's still managed to inch closer to $89,000. The total cryptocurrency market capitalization has reclaimed $3 trillion, up 1.2% from the previous day.

The recent trend in Bitcoin spot ETFs is concerning, with a net outflow of $348.1 million on December 31. This marks the largest two-month redemption since these products launched in January 2024, with combined outflows totaling $4.57 billion through November-December.

Analysts believe that this decline reflects declining institutional appetite heading into year-end, but also note that it may not necessarily be a cause for panic selling. Market volatility has decreased significantly, suggesting a potential significant price movement ahead.
