Bitcoin ETF Demand Reverses as Ethereum Funds Retreat
Crypto exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the US recorded mixed flows on August 3, led by renewed demand for Bitcoin products. According to SoSoValue data, Bitcoin ETFs attracted $170.09 million, reversing their previous session's $265.37 million outflow.
The influx of capital into Bitcoin ETFs was a one-session reversal in capital direction. The SEC's approval of spot Bitcoin exchange-traded products in January 2024 and the expansion of its operating framework in July 2025 have contributed to increased demand for these funds.
In contrast, Ethereum and HYPE funds posted withdrawals, with Ethereum ETFs losing $11.42 million worth of Ether. XRP products, however, gained 1.06 million tokens valued at approximately $1.15 million.
The distribution showed that Bitcoin accounted for nearly all reported dollar inflows, while XRP demand remained positive but small compared to Bitcoin's total. The mixed flows indicate that investors are differentiating between assets rather than buying the entire crypto ETF category.
