Bitcoin ETF Inflows May Be Key to Breaking August Losing Streak
Bitcoin has been in a losing streak during August for several years, but this year's trend may be about to break. According to CoinGlass data, Bitcoin hasn't had a positive August since the 2021 cycle, with an average loss of nearly 10% from 2022 to 2025.
However, despite selling pressure at the start of Q3, Bitcoin has managed to hold above $60k. Additionally, a closer look at the data shows that while capital inflows into Bitcoin are increasing, they are not yet being led by the asset itself, but rather other cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum.
The shift in dominance is starting to favor Bitcoin again, with BTC.D moving higher and ETH.D facing rejection at its resistance level. This suggests investors are positioning back into Bitcoin, which could support a break from its historically bearish August trend.
