Bitcoin ETF Outflows Reach $463M as Fed Meeting Looms
Bitcoin spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have posted significant outflows in the past week, totaling $463 million. This marks the first weekly loss since mid-August and reverses a three-week trend of heavy investor demand.
The funds recorded net withdrawals across all four trading sessions, with Tuesday's outflows reaching $46.7 million, followed by $120.2 million on Wednesday, $282.6 million on Thursday, and $13.3 million on Friday.
According to Ecoinometrics, while the reversal remains modest compared to the preceding demand, an extended streak of redemptions would make it increasingly difficult for Bitcoin to hold above $75,000. The concern is not just about the money leaving the funds in isolation but what happens if the trend persists.
The Federal Reserve meeting this week raises the stakes for Bitcoin's price action, particularly around the $75,000 threshold. As interest rates continue climbing and Treasury yields approach 5%, the debasement narrative supporting Bitcoin this year is under pressure.
