Bitcoin ETF Outflows Soar to $463 Million as Ethereum Sees Surge
The crypto market is at a critical juncture, with institutional demand for Bitcoin weakening sharply. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw net outflows of $462.7 million between September 8 and 11, after attracting almost $1 billion in net inflows just one week earlier.
This trend reversal was particularly pronounced on September 10, when Bitcoin ETFs lost around $282.6 million in a single session. The heaviest losses were seen in ARK Invest and 21Shares' ARKB fund, with around $234 million leaving the fund, while Grayscale's GBTC saw roughly $129 million in outflows.
In stark contrast, Ethereum ETFs moved into positive territory, attracting approximately $216.4 million in net inflows on September 11 alone. This brought the weekly result for Ethereum funds to around $197 million in net inflows, with BlackRock's fund seeing a significant share of the fresh capital.
The divergence between Bitcoin and Ethereum suggests that institutional investors are becoming more selective in how they allocate capital within the crypto market. While it is still too early to call this a lasting shift in investor preference, the data points to a temporary rotation towards Ethereum rather than a broad retreat from digital assets.
